It is my pleasure to welcome you to Great Oaks College. Our school is a specialist provision which provides education for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who require a smaller, more specialised intervention than can be provided in a mainstream school.
We are committed to each and every one of our students, providing specialist support tailored to each individual’s unique needs and helping all students achieve their full potential. Children often come to our school with negative perceptions of the education system, having experienced repeated rejection. We are dedicated to turning their experience of learning into a positive one.
We aim to support our students to become happy, confident, independent adults with a clear moral purpose and the ability to lead a fulfilling life. We wish all of our students to develop a passion for lifelong learning.
At Great Oaks we work tirelessly to support the holistic development of our students, while striving for excellence in academic success. We support students by recognising strength and personal weaknesses, we then help them by removing barriers so they can then focus and be successful in their chosen path ways. We have a full pronged curriculum that allows our students to choose a wide range of experience preparing them for adult hood.
The young people that attend Great Oaks are in KS3, KS4 and KS5, ranging in ages 11-19.
The students at Great Oaks have access to a four pronged curriculum this includes: • Foundation • Vocational • Environmental • Adventurous
There are specialist support teams who support all of our students these are: • Pastoral • Send Team • Learning Support Team
