Welcome from the Head Teacher

Welcome to Mynydd Haf school. Based in Caerphilly, the school opened at Easter 2016 as a result of an initiative to provide locally based, easily accessible, high quality learning experiences within a small, focused, nurturing environment to secondary school aged children expressing behaviours that are challenging or inappropriate in a community setting.

Aims

We aim to help pupils towards a better future by providing the highest quality nurture and education in a small, pupil centred environment.

What sets us apart from other schools

The school is staffed with a highly skilled and qualified team of professionals and resourced to offer a wide range of educational, sporting and therapeutic resources for pupils aged 11-17 years who have complex needs.

Pupils

Many of the boys and girls who attend the school have additional learning needs such as BESD, ADHD, ODD, are returning to an educational setting after periods without formal education or require a smaller, nurturing environment in which to develop their confidence in learning. They are aged 11-17 years.

Areas of expertise

‘Supporting each other to build success for everyone’

The school specialises in educating young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

"Can I just say a huge THANK YOU for your help and support. I simply have no words to describe the impact that you had yesterday and I absolutely dread to think what might have happened if you had not been available to assist." Social Worker
