Welcome to Tees Valley College, where we have high aspirations for every one of students. We are proud of our young people and the dedication and commitment of our staff in supporting every one of our students to enjoy school and make progress.
Our focus is upon English and mathematics, as well as vocational subjects, as this will enable each student to progress onto Further Education, apprenticeships and to gain employment.
Tees Valley College fundamentally operates within two main principles: 1. All young people, without exception, are to be valued as unique and productive members of society. 2. All young people can succeed and should be encouraged to ever-greater appropriate challenges in order to maximise their potential and achieve their aspirations.
The school has clear, positive expectations for behaviour and well-established and successful positive reinforcement strategies that are reviewed regularly. Young people who are referred to us have the opportunity to gain GCSEs and Functional Skills in English and mathematics. An extensive PSHE and GCSE Citizenship offer, ensures each young person is supported to become well-rounded members of society.
The vocational subjects include: • Art and Design • Food Technology • Childcare
We cater for pupils aged 11 - 19 years with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties who are excluded, or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.
We offer all pupils a broad and balanced curriculum in which, irrespective of academic ability, they are stretched and challenged to achieve high levels of success. As a behaviour specialist independent school, we support young people with complex needs, including those with and without an EHCP. The alternative provision we offer enables all young people to feel safe and happy in school, whilst making progress in all subjects and to make every day a memorable one.
Tees Valley School’s First Aid Policy is available to parents on request or via the school office.
"Staff understand the importance of providing pupils with positive and successful learning experiences and, as a result, pupils make good progress while at the school.." OFSTED
